We understand that Medpoint has a lot of different services and options to help you reach your health goals. Here is a list of questions we get asked often that may help to better explain our offerings.

Are the executive medicals covered by OHIP or benefits plans?
Executive medicals are not included in OHIP coverage, making them a private expense. Most benefits plans do not Executive medicals unless you have a Health Spending Account. However, some Medpoint services are covered by benefits plans, including Dietitian services, orthotics, kinesiology, and bracing. Please reach out to us info@medpoint.ca to find out what services may be covered your plan.

Will coming to Medpoint impact the relationship I have with my family doctor?
Medpoint medical services are not covered by OHIP, so your family doctor shouldn't have any concerns. In fact, many family doctors often recommend Medpoint for additional testing. If you're considering joining the membership program, you might want to discuss "-rostering" with your family doctor. Keep in mind that this does not mean they will stop being your family doctor.

Does Medpoint become my family doctor?
Medpoint is an organization and is not able to serve as your family doctor. However, we can collaborate with your family doctor or operate independently to assist in managing your ongoing healthcare needsDue to the current physician shortage and the challenges within the healthcare system, many individuals are opting for our membership program as a proactive approach to their health.

Do I need a referral from my family doctor to come to Medpoint?
Executive medicals or memberships do not require a referral from your doctor; you can reach out to us directly. However, if you wish to consult one of our medical specialists, it's necessary to have a referral from your family doctor.

Do I have to be a member to do one of the executive medicals?
Many clients visit Medpoint for medical services without becoming members. You can view the pricing HERE.

If I sign up for membership how long is the commitment for?
Our contracts have a minimum duration of one year. If you choose to make monthly payments, the contract will automatically renew.

Do I have to do the same medical every year?
"No, we have numerous clients who begin with the 5-hour medical and alternate between the 3 and 5-hour sessions each year. It's entirely your choice. You can also choose to forgo the yearly medical and simply maintain your membership, though we do recommend having a medical check-up annually. Your pricing will adjust accordingly."

Can I speak to someone before I commit?
Absolutely! We would be delighted to have a team member speak with you over the or arrange an in-person tour and conversation.

What forms of payment do you accept?
At Medpoint, we offer various payment options to meet your needs, including e-transfer, all major credit cards, debit, cash, and cheque. Please inform us of your preferred method in advance so we can prepare accordingly.

If I require additional testing or specialist referrals will there be an additional cost?
Referrals for any additional diagnostics or specialists recommended by our physicians, if deemed medically necessary, will be processed through OHIP as a service.

When will I get my results back?
After completing your health assessment with us, a team member will schedule your follow-up appointment with a physician or Nurse Practitioner on a different day to discuss all the results. You will receive a comprehensive report before your follow-up appointment and this is usually scheduled within 2 weeks.
